About Us

Welcome! My name is Carmine and with my family, we will be your hosts here at La Fornacina. I’m a Visual Designer who lives between Brooklyn, NYC, and Tuscany. I was raised at La Fornacina back in the 80’s, when this place operated with no electricity, running on nothing but dreams. Layla, my mom, your host as well, was the first visionary who found the estate in 1983 while travelling around Italy with my dad and me. She decided it was a special place, bought it, and moved our entire family from Naples, and our life in the city. Linda, my younger little sister, a creative and sweet person, was born here a couple of years after we moved here, and since that moment, La Fornacina has been our cosy shelter in the world. As good world travellers, we enrich it every time we return with our life experiences and beloved objects. We want others to enjoy La Fornacina’s comforts and idyllic setting. So close to Rome and Florence, yet a magical world away, our country house is yours to enjoy.

We like to think that people who come to our house feel the same way we did when we discovered such a special place.
