How to get to La Fornacina from Saturnia (the hamlet)
When you get to the fork at the entrance of Saturnia hamlet, turn right (the sign says Arcidosso-Semproniano), follow the road for about 1 mile and after some bends, turn left at the sign for Usi/Murci. Go straight on for 4 miles, find the signpost for "La Fornacina" and drive the last mile more to get to our house.
Equidistant between the most important cities of central Italy, La Fornacina has a favorable position coming from both south and north.

... from Rome and southern Italy
Enter toll highway A12 to Civitavecchia and go on until the end of the highway, then enter SS1 from Aurelia to Grosseto, and take the exit for Vulci (km 111, near Hotel Vulci). From there, it’s 35 km to Manciano, and the last 12 km to Terme di Saturnia. From Saturnia, follow directions in the map above to reach La Fornacina.
... from Florence and northern Italy
From A1 (the Milan-Rome toll highway), exit Firenze Certosa, then go on to Siena. Enter the Siena-Grosseto freeway, take the exit for Roselle and follow the signs to Scansano, then to Terme di Saturnia. From Saturnia, follow directions in the map above to reach La Fornacina.

Enter toll highway A12 from Genoa to Rosignano, then enter SS1 Aurelia to Grosseto, take the exit for Grosseto Est (East Grosseto) and follow signs to Scansano, then to Terme di Saturnia. From Saturnia, follow directions in the map above to reach La Fornacina.
... from Perugia, Orvieto and eastern Italian coast.
Enter E45 to Todi, then take the freeway until Orvieto, then follow signs to Viterbo and immediately after, San Lorenzo Nuovo. Then it’s on to Pitigliano and near Manciano. Before getting to Manciano, find directions to Saturnia on the right. From Saturnia, follow directions in the map above to reach La Fornacina.
